Kim is inspired by furniture with a story. Culture is learning not to be influenced by fashion! After leaving school, she quickly became self-employed and opened a furniture store in Hasselt called “Simongavina” specialized in timeless and exclusive design collections, “20 fascinating years”.
Currently she’s the interior specialist at ‘Keldermans Wonen’ in Herk de Stad, where she transforms the old gallery, originally a beer brewery, into a new living concept ‘Adventure of living‘. Here we welcome you in a showroom full of art, vintage and design furniture.
Do you think it’s time to change your interior? From color advice to costumisation or looking for that added value in your home? Need inspiration and professional advice?

Statement
Valerie JA Vandermotten paints moments of reverie, inspired by the shapes of nature, with acrylics and gouache on wood panels and linen, combining sequences of colors, textures and lines in gestural and geometric abstraction to add poetry to life.
“Since my youth I have cherished a passion for form and functionality, also driven by my interest in mathematical shapes. Later, during my design career at Samsonite in which I tried to reconcile emotion and reason to achieve commercial goals, this passion has only grown. One the most notable achievements is designing the award winning Cosmolite collection. The collection introduced in 2008, won the Red Dot Design Award “Best of the Best 2010”, and became thé ICON product for Samsonite. At my retirement as Senior Design Director for Samsonite, I have definitely landed in the visual arts. I love to inspire you with my futuristic sculptures to make your life/company more interesting.
My work extends to both private and public indoor and outdoor applications, with a special focus on monumental applications. My own specializations are making 3D designs, 3D prints in sustainable polymers and finishing with car paint, for models ranging from 20 cm to 1 m in diameter. All sizes and material and finishings can be rendered and realised at your demand.
For monumental applications, I work with specialized companies that produce art in plastic, cast or shaped stainless steel constructions in a highly polished finish. My artwork, featuring globally numbered models and design protection, is a reflection of my commitment to quality and innovation.
Let's explore the limitless possibilities of “E(motional) S(ensitive) Design in Art together”
My name is Christel Valkeneers, born and raised in rural Herk-de-Stad in the late 1960s. From an early age, I developed a passion for art. Over the years, time for painting gave way to time with my family, my household and my full-time job.
As a medical representative, I traverse the Dutch-speaking part of the country daily. The increasingly busy roads, longer traffic jams and the race against time make me yearn more often to slow down and be aware of the moment.
Time races by like crazy and yet I try to stop the clock for a moment, call it: escape from time and the rush of daily life. And just here I rediscovered my passion for painting. My stress level drops as my hands glide over the canvas. The wonderful feeling of letting everything happen in the flow of the moment. I try to bring back this relaxation in my works: quiet colors, gentle movements and abstract forms.
In addition, my heart makes a leap of joy when I can let people enjoy my moment of escape and relaxation, and the resulting creation.
My name is Nathalie Malecki, born in the multicultural Maasmechelen, where I am still firmly rooted. Due to a fragile health and the accompanying invitation to turn completely inward, I have been able to (re)discover the art of drawing and creating within myself. This is not only my passion but also my medicine. I create energetic artworks inspired by the cosmos, sacred geometry, quantum physics, and cymatics.
In the process of creating, I feel connected to something greater than myself, to the universal life and everything around me. At the same time, I am fully anchored in my own authentic being. My artworks are, therefore, an expression of this sacred process of consciousness of oneness.
I believe that everyone who creates from the heart makes life a little more beautiful. Thus, I hope my creations may contribute in this way.
You are warmly welcome to come and discover this energy in my artworks.
In loving connection,
Nathalie
My name is Eve Poelmans, born in 1979 and residing in the picturesque Sint-Truiden. My career is rooted in the sales of high-end fashion and interior items. This has allowed me to develop a keen eye for trends, colors, and aesthetics. Driven by a deep passion for craftsmanship and skill, I have continually pursued further education. As a result, I have obtained a diploma as an upholsterer and have completed a training course in beekeeping.
In 2019, I discovered my true passion: ceramics. This marked the beginning of a journey at the Haspengouw Academy of Visual Arts, where I fully immersed myself in the art of clay, porcelain, and creating unique glazes. After five inspiring years, I graduated in 2024.
I am fascinated by abstract forms and the transformation of my wheel-thrown pieces. Ceramics allows me to explore new sculptural shapes and pushes me out of my comfort zone. My ambition is to create sculptures that are not only visually appealing but also convey a sense of lightness and movement.
No challenge is too great for me! I also strive to be an inspiration to others so that I can share this passion with them.
